Within hours of the deal, Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder and the world’s second richest man, was asking followers for casting advice via the social media platform X, owned by the world’s richest man, Elon Musk.

He asked: “Who’d you pick as the next Bond?”

Michael Fassbender Auditioned for James Bond but Suggested Daniel Craig to Producers: ‘I Don’t Know Why I Was Promoting Him. I Should’ve Promoted Myself’(...)

One of the biggest contenders to emerge during the audition process was Henry Cavill, although he ended up being too young for the producers’ liking. “Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell told Express UK last year that Cavill’s audition was incredible. “He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous,” Campbell said. “And look, if Daniel didn’t exist, Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape… Very handsome, very chiseled. He just looked a little young at that time back then.”

Forenliebling Denis Villeneuve bekam vor Stunden einen neuen Job als Regisseur:
Denis Villeneuve is set to direct the next James Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios, the studio announced Wednesday.
Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce, as previously announced, with Tanya Lapointe exec producing.
Gar nicht mitbekommen, aber das sind die Namen, die vorher fielen:
(...) Edward Berger, Edgar Wright, Jonathan Nolan and Paul King. Earlier, the sense was that Alfonso Cuarón, a frequent collaborator of producer Heyman, might be taking the gig.
Aber hat Villeneuve wirklich genug Zeit dafür?
The hiring of Villeneuve comes as a bit of a shock, given that he’ll be tied up for the foreseeable future with his third and final Dune film for Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment, which is shooting this summer and slated for release on December 16, 2026. He’s (...) been linked to projects in development including Cleopatra; an adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s classic sci-fi novel Rendezcous with Rama; and Nuclear War: A Scenario, an adaptation of the work of non-fiction by Annie Jacobsen (...)
Er freut sich wirklich:
Villeneuve said, “Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor.”
Großartige Wahl!

Der erste Bond ohne Action.
Wahrscheinlich die schlechtestmögliche Wahl. Da wär mir sogar Boll lieber gewesen.

Jonathan weiß ich, war passionierter Person of Interest. Der hätte sich wahrscheinlich richtig reingekniet.

Paddington, hm, okay.

Logische Wahl erscheint mir Campbell.
