RIVERBEND rescued - It took Michael Dennis from Reelblack Inc. two long years of investigation, detective work, and legal wrangling to discover, locate, clear the rights, and then with the help of Missing Movies take possession of the original film elements of the long-lost indie movie RIVERBEND starring Steve James and Margaret Avery that I directed back in 1989.
It is now being digitized in 6K resolution, color restored, and musically enhanced for a future Blu-ray release and hopefully general viewing availability thereafter. In the photo I am surrounded by the many boxes containing the various film and magnetic tape elements, holding a tin can with the precious original negative in it.
