In 1970s Australia, Memoir of a Snail tells the poignant story of Grace Pudel, a melancholic woman who finds solace in her love for snails, romance novels, and guinea-pigs. After their mother’s tragic death during pregnancy, Grace and her twin brother Gilbert are raised by their paraplegic-alcoholic former juggler father, Percy. Tragedy strikes again when Percy passes away, forcing the siblings to be separated and thrust into separate foster homes.
